You are bidding on a really cool historical depression era toy or collectible piece. I do not see a label but it is consistent with the make and has the same handle as the depression makes from the WPA Museum Extension Projection. Its probably the earliest example and from what I can tell, the only one around, of Jack in the Beanstalk, a large puppet used in the depression for educational puppet shows. In faint pencil on the handle, there is the word giant written. Thick paper mache type material socket head and upper and lower torso with cloth body, arms and upper legs with wood lower legs and felt and cloth clothing. 24 inches tall. Good shape for the age. I say that because the body and cloth is in nice shape, the head not so much. Lots of paint wear and loss, the midline is splitting on the head from ear to ear and general nicks and chips. Stringing needs to be untangled a little, cloth and felt could use some fine cleaning but no tears or rips or significant wear. This would be an amazing display or museum display piece.
